Kelsey wins her first ITF Women's match

Having been given a wild card to the main draw of the $10,000 ITF Women's Tournament in Chennai, Kelsey came through a nerve racking first round match against a pretty strong 20 year old from Thailand. Playing her first Kelsey was a bundle of nerves which was expected. Despite this she showed some real good character to pull off a good 6-3, 6-4 victory and justify her Wild Card. WELL DONE!!!!!!

Competitive Edge's First Trip to the USA

Kelsey Sundaram (Top 5 INDIA Girls U18), Abhijeeth Tiwari (Top 20 INDIA B18's) , Sharadh Ramesh (Top 15 INDIA Boys U12) and Aroon Khatter made their debut trip to the USA to a world renowned tennis camp during the month of December2006  accompanied by our Director Mr. Meenakshi Sundaram.

The kids worked really hard and had a very rewarding tennis trip. They stayed at camp for a month.

Their daily practise started with  an hour session with Meenakshi Sundaram after which they joined the Academy kids for a gruelling two hour workout of drills and point situations. The evening sessions were devoted to actual match play with the other academy children.

The kids also had two fitness sessions everyday in the morning and the evening.  The month long program finished with a Super Championship Tournament where Abi and Kelsey won the titles in their respective age divisions. Sharadh did real well to make the Quarters where he lost to the #1 player in state in a very close match.
